Understanding Your Test Results
Your performance is evaluated against an established standard. The minimum passing score for the Core Academic Skills Assessment (CASA) was approved by the Indiana State Board of Education (SBOE) and is based, in part, on the professional judgments and recommendations of Indiana educators.
The total subtest score is based on the number of raw score points earned on each section (multiple-choice section and, for CASA—Writing, constructed-response section); the proportion accounted for by each section, if applicable; and the scaling of that score. Raw scores are converted to a scale of 100 to 300. To pass CASA, you must receive a scaled score of 220 on each of the three subtests.
Scoring the constructed-response assignment. Information about the scoring of the constructed-response assignment, including performance characteristics and the score scale, is available in Section 7 of the CASA study guide.
